Privacy policy — Naseem

Naseem does not collect, store, track, or sell your personal data. Naseem has no servers: there is no account, no telemetry, no analytics, and nothing is sent to the developer.

Your data

Naseem runs on your Mac. Your conversations, projects, memory, skills, settings, attached documents, and every other piece of app data stay on your device. Your API keys are stored in the macOS Keychain and are sent only to the service they belong to.

What leaves your Mac

Naseem contacts a network service only in these cases, and never through any server of the developer's:

• AI providers you choose. When you send a request, it goes directly from your Mac to that provider using your own API key and account, and is subject to that provider's privacy policy. With on-device models, such as MLX or a local Ollama, nothing leaves your Mac at all.
• Optional integrations you enable, each reachable only with a key or token you supply: web search, ElevenLabs speech, a Telegram bot, and MCP servers you configure. Their own policies apply.
• Software updates. Naseem checks a published update file and downloads new versions from GitHub.
• Licence activation. Activating Naseem Pro verifies the licence key with Gumroad once.
• Model information. Naseem fetches and caches a public list of model context sizes. The request contains nothing about you.
• Messages you choose to send. Feedback and integration requests open an email in your own mail app, which you read before sending. They include the app version, your plan, and your macOS version.

Your Mac's apps and files

With your permission, Naseem can read and change files, run commands, and use Mail, Calendar, Reminders, Notes, and Contacts on your Mac. macOS asks for each permission separately, and you can withdraw it at any time in System Settings. What Naseem reads is used only to answer the request you made. Actions that change or delete anything ask you first, and actions that send an email, spend money, or delete data ask every time.

Speech

Dictation uses Apple's speech recognition. When the language you chose is supported on your Mac, your voice is recognised on the device and does not leave it. When it is not, macOS sends the audio to Apple. Naseem shows which of the two is happening whenever it is listening. If you enable ElevenLabs, the text to be spoken is sent to ElevenLabs using your key.

Payments

Purchases of Naseem Pro are processed by Gumroad. Payment information is handled by Gumroad and is never collected, seen, or stored by Naseem.

Children

Naseem is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be noted here with a new date, and in the app's release notes.
